Learning New Vocabulary

There are many ways to learn new vocabulary. Most teachers will tell you to watch TV or movies in English, and to speak to as many native English speakers as possible. These are great ways to find new words. However, the way that I have been learning Thai, could help you with English.

Every day I try to think in Thai and describe what I am doing. When there is a word that I can't remember or I don't know in Thai, I write it down in English. It shouldn't be too many words, I think five is a good number. After work, I sit down and translate the words and make a note of them in my diary. I suggest a mini notebook, such as the ones you can get in Muji or Daiso.
To translate the words, you can use Google Translate or Bing Translate. Google translate has the pronunciation but it is a little bit robotic. For pronunciation, I suggest using Oxford Learner's Dictionary or Cambridge Dictionary Online.
Here are my five words for today (sorry about the handwriting).
