In Thai, there are 44 letters which represent 44 sounds. This means that if you can read, you can pronounce most words without any problem. There are some pronunciation rules but not many.

 

In English, we only have 26 letters in the alphabet. We use these 26 letters to represent 44 sounds. In this section, you will see the 20 vowel sounds in English and how they are usually spelled.
