How many tenses are there in English? We actually only have two tenses: the past simple and present simple. The other things we call "tenses" are in fact aspects or forms. Here the "tenses" are labelled how you would normally see them.

You have two options; form and function. If you are not comfortable with the tenses yet, look at the form. If you are confident with the form, you can go straight to functions.
